Residents of Clearwater and Tampa Bay Are Invited to Sign Up for the Eye Shop Grand Opening Event
(CLEARWATER, Fla.) – Tampa Bay locals will soon have a new destination for stylish prescription eyewear, with the Eye Shop in Downtown Clearwater scheduled to open in January. As owner Pamela Rowan prepares her new optical boutique for its public debut, area residents are invited to sign up online to receive an invitation to the grand opening event and special offers.
The Eye Shop will be located in the heart of Downtown Clearwater at the 432 Cleveland Street, within easy walking distance of other local retail and dining establishments. It will offer a wide variety of fashionable frames and prescription lenses – including reading glasses, progressives, sunglasses, and specialty eyeglasses for sports and other activities – as well as eye exams, contact lenses and other optometry services.
Rowan plans to leverage her background in art and business as the optical boutique’s fashion and retail director. She studied art management at New York University, and served as director of an American folk art gallery for four years. She later moved to Maryland, where she earned an MBA from the University of Baltimore. For the past 10 years, she has been the administrator at Rowan Eye Center of New Port Richey, a practice owned by husband, Board-certified ophthalmologist and eye surgeon Dr. Carey Rowan.
Dr. Rowan will serve as surgical consultant to the Eye Shop. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in the department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Rowan took over the Rowan Eye Center practice in 2001. He specializes in cataract and refractive Surgery, oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and Botox® treatments.
Pamela Rowan notes that the Eye Shop will allow Clearwater residents to obtain professional optical services and high-quality, competitively priced eyewear in their own neighborhood, without having to travel to St. Petersburg or Tampa. “Our goal is to provide the best quality and the best service at the best prices,” she explained. “In terms of eyewear, we’ll have something for everyone – from high-end designer styles to affordable frames for the whole family. In addition to providing “cutting-edge, fashion-forward eyewear,” Rowan says the Eye Shop will feature the latest optical technology available, with service from knowledgeable and experienced doctors and staff. Customers will be able to obtain eye exams in Clearwater from a Board-certified optometrist, or may bring in existing eyeglass or contact lens prescriptions to be filled.
