Actor Gary Sinise didn’t make it to the recent Sunscreen Film Festival but more than 9,000 other visitors did, according to numbers released Tuesday. That’s the second-largest attendance in the festival’s seven-year history, according to executive director Tony Armer. Sunscreen winners included best film choice Honey Killer, director Andrew Disney (Searching for Sonny, pictured at right), Richard Studebaker’s Blueberry Pale Ale as best Florida film, Michael Toey and Travis Mann’s screenplay Nuclear One, Lina Gartzman for best female director, and Christina D. King’s The Kook for best short.
