A leading service provider to the mortgage and financial industry, NTC continues to add staff to its nearly 300 local team members at its Palm Harbor headquarters.
(Palm Harbor, Fla.,) – Employ1 Tampa Bay, a new and local economic initiative, is encouraging area businesses to help improve employment in the region. There are approximately 116,000 companies in the Tampa Bay area, and if each of these businesses hired just one employee, that would put around 116,000 residents to work. That’s the spirit behind Employ1 Tampa Bay, which Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC) supports.
A single new hire can, on average, increase the U.S. GDP by about $100,000, according to one analyst (1). As a large Palm Harbor employer that performs research services and processes documents for the residential mortgage servicing industry, NTC added 66 staff members in the last quarter, including 20 in June alone.
Founded in 1991, NTC is privately-owned and the largest provider in its field of services. The company’s clients include eight of the 10 largest residential mortgage servicers in the country. Most of the work the company does for mortgage servicers is performing land records research and processing lien release documents that clear paid-in-full mortgages from land records when borrowers pay off their mortgages, refinance their homes, or sell their homes. The company has nearly 300 local employees, and that number continues to grow.
The company expansion is due to an increase in loans being paid off in the mortgage industry via refinancing or purchases (out-right home sales). However, the most significant increase is in land records research and reporting work being performed, an NTC official said.
NTC is sought out for their proficiency and accuracy in land records research services due to two factors: their proprietary technology that they have developed over the past decade and perfecting their automation and quality control systems on document retrieval services. NTC claims that their vast experience in accessing to county records in over 3600 county recording jurisdictions nationwide has contributed to their expansion. Because of their ability to deliver highly accurate and fast results, that growing need in the industry has put them into a position of needing to hire many more employees to service the demand.
NTC has also been awarded the Tampa Bay Times’ Top Workplaces two years in a row, proving that their drive for excellence is not just geared toward its customers. (2)
“We are a national company, but based in Tampa Bay so we’re committed to doing our part to bolster the region’s employment base… and economy,” said John Hillman, CEO of NTC. “Employ1 Tampa Bay is a worthwhile initiative – as NTC continues to grow it will help the region’s employment numbers improve.”
NTC is hiring in three areas:
• Entry-level positions including data entry, mailroom, initial research functions
• Account managers
• Programmers and web designers
All NTC employees undergo rigorous on-the-job training and continuing education annually. “Our clients say we are competent and dependable,” Hillman added. “and we aim to keep it that way.”
