Karla Jo likes me to stay away from politics but since this involves a dear friend of mine and takes place all the way over in Iceland, I am hoping she lets this roll. This is a story of a major public relations victory – one where the people of a country rebelled with consummate PR. Much of it was orchestrated by a friend of mine and fellow poet that I have known and worked with for several years. Her name is Birgitta Jónsdóttir and she is now a Member of Parliament in Iceland. It is a fascinating story so for me she is a JoTo In. She truly is a modern day Joan of Arc!
Note the emotion in this video – the emotion of the people drove Congress out. The emotion of the reporter tried to incite Birgitta Jónsdóttir to blow up and not stay on task with her message – “how dare she stand up for the people of Iceland who did not want to pay 30 years for a private bank’s f*up. Here her tell the media like it is and listen to her emotion – she stays calm, but does not let the interviewer intimidate her – that takes believing in and really knowing your message:
If you are more interested in the history of Iceland’s demise and then people taking back the country, watch this and see our own ‘Joan of Arc’ being interviewed by 20/20:
