Iron Deficiency Could be the Culprit for Deteriorating Gums
JoTo PR Client, Cosmetic Dental Associates, was featured in a bylined article on Oprah.com titled, What Your Gums Are Trying to Tell You.
John Moore, DDS at Cosmetic Dental Associates in San Antonio, Texas, is an industry leader in the cosmetic dental industry for over 30 years. He provided his insight on what can lead to pale gums in patients. “You might want to order up a juicy burger or a giant spinach salad. When your body isn’t producing enough red blood cells, you could be looking at anemia [in your teeth].”
Moore suggests that a nutrient deficiency may be the cause of pale gums, but he advises to not mess around and consult an expert on how to alleviate certain symptoms. “Gums should be nice and pink and being deficient in nutrients like iron or B12 could be a culprit, and you may also notice other symptoms like weakness, dizziness and fatigue. Talk with your doctor.”
