COVID-19 communications show no signs of slowing down any time soon—and my inbox is filling up with more emails… but not about what you think.
Businesses are pivoting 180 degrees on what they can do to innovate and change their business model to “out-create” or outpace this virus. I find it encouraging and amazing. Leaders are stepping up and taking this challenge head on with new tech, business ideas accelerated and MORE communication, not less. From what I see, the business community is not taking this lying down.
Not to mention my phone… and the phone lines here at JOTO PR… journalists need all the help they can get from experts and thought leaders on a whole bevy of subjects. If you want to be in control of the news you are getting, you CAN do something about it. Quit being the effect and figure out how to be in control of it.
Our clients and prospects are sending in data on what is happening in real-time in their “Ground Zero” areas—and what they are doing about it. And it’s not just the obvious questions about the COVID-19 virus itself—no, we’re well past that. It’s about how businesses are proactively pivoting in this “new normal”.
There’s no more appropriate time than now for you to share your vast knowledge and experience with those who need it most. Set the example. Give valuable info. Tell your solutions and how it is working.

- Don’t tell me WHY you CAN’T. Tell me HOW you
Don’t bring me problems. Bring me solutions.
If you can’t do it, I’ll find someone who can.
Part of this “new normal” is communicating like you’ve never done before, being able to turn on a dime, because no crisis is going to wait for us. And we need you be to be ready to speak on your solutions and expert opinions at a moment’s notice.
We’re all living in a time of great stress and uncertainty—mostly by the communication that has been being sent out spreading like a virus. Stop that chain. Regardless of people’s motives, we should always maintain civility and seek opportunities to help others. It only makes you a better leader and an example of a company doing what’s right.
In the meantime, we too will be monitoring the COVID-19 crisis and ensure your excellent reputation is maintained, and even strengthened. But above all, get the correct news out to millions who need it.
A reminder – the media may be at my door, but they’re asking for you. Talk to us.
